Callao – Gambeta tunnel

Néstor Gambetta avenue tunnel, located in Callao district, metropolitan region of Lima (Peru), was built to enable the enlargement constructions in Jorge Chávez international airport, in a manner that would preserve the original track layout in Nestor Gambetta avenue, main route in region. Compromising road and rail tunnel, with 960m long in buried stretch under the future airport runway and 1140m in entrance and exit access stretches. Projected as a buried, executed in reinforced concrete, has three main cells: two of those designated to the vehicle traffic (with three lanes each one), and a third one, central, designated to rail tracks, total around of 45m width and 10,70 height. Besides, it was foreseen two small lateral designated to users emergency track.

CJC had a multidisciplinary participation in the development of this project during the conceptual and detailed phases, covering geometric design, geotechnics, drainage and firefighting, electronic systems and illumination, ventilation system, waterproofing system and structural systems areas. In addition, was the technical responsible of the project with Provias Nacional, governmental management department, linked to Peru’s transport and communication minister.

Mata Fria tunnels – Fernão Dias highway

Tunnels construction started in 1996, belongs to km 71,6 Fernão Dias (BR-381) Road, in Mairiporã and connects São Paulo to Belo Horizonte, Mata Fria tunnels has 245m of extension. It was executed by NATM principles.

CJC members developed the detailed and installations project, author’s supervision in Mata Fria NATM tunnels in Fernão dias road (by F. Ferraz).

Maria Maluf mini ring road

São Paulo center is an area located around the historical center and delimited by “minianel viário” (bypass in english), composed by Marginal Tiete and Pinheiros, Salim Farah Maluf, Afonso d'Escragnolle Taunay, Bandeirantes, Juntas Provisórias, Presidente Tancredo Neves, Luís Inácio de Anhaia Melo avenues and the Maria Maluf road complex. This region of the city concentrates the biggest numbers of services, jobs, cultural equipment and leisure, as well as the biggest income, excepting few cases. Maria Maluf road complex is an important range of underground roads in São Paulo city, was inaugurated on July 9, 1994, during the government of Paulo Maluf. It connects Bandeirantes avenue to Tancredo Neves avenue, allowing the connection between Marginal Pinheiros and Via Anchieta.

Quilombo tunnel – Piaçaguera – Guarujá highway

Cônego Domênico Rangoni Road, also known as Piaçaguera-Guarujá, was built in 70 decade. It has 30km long, and has a tunnel called “Quilombo tunnel”, with approximately 1km long. This structure starts in Imigrantes Road and circumvents the Cubatão petrochemical complex, crossing COSIPA (USIMINAS), Braskem, unipar Carbocloro and other industries in Cubatão river valley.

Imigrantes highway

Imigrantes Road (SP-160) is a highway in São Paulo state, it had inaugurated the north carriageway in 1976 and south carriageway in 2002. The north carriageway has 11 tunnels. South carriageway has four, which two of those are the most extended Brazilian road tunnels, the first one 3,15km of extension and the other with 3,00km. The road connects São Paulo to Praia Grande (meaning Long Beach), in south São Paulo coast, has an intense vehicle traffic, mainly during summer and holidays.

CJC members develops the basic and detailed project, author’s supervision and technical assistance in NATM tunnels in Imigrantes Road, south carriageway, including retaining, excavations, structures and installations (by F.Ferraz).
